Bath MBA (Sharon YANG)

1. Pre-sessional course.

It would be better  for students who gets 7 to apply this  school or even you attend the pre-sessional course or Pre-MBA it's still heavy burden for those who get lower English score. As long as you  show your competence while participating the pre-sessional course or Pre-MBA, most students could pass these courses. However, it does provide a clear blueprint for the future course.

2. School facilities.

I don't have the information from other schools, so I am not sure if my idea is correct. Anyway, Bath is a small town but a great place for "studying". The school is quite small and it might not fit your imagination for a UNIVERSITY  in the UK... @_@

For MBA students, the printing is free of charge but not other MSC students. And there are also breakout rooms for self or group studying on campus.

3. MBA programme

62 students in total, 9 from China, 15 from India, 9 from UK, 6 from TW, 4 from Japan, 4 from Korea, and others.. rest of world...

Please do prepare if you would like to apply MBA course.  They will provide plenty of pre-reading and the lecturers normally only review the important point and you are supposed to read all the required reading by your  own. There will be a lot of discussion during the courses, and  you might have nothing to  contribute  if  you don't prepare well.

There are several modules and each module will be taught within one week. If it's a 3-credit module, then it takes 2.5 days and 6-credit within 5 days. The team work occupies about 0.5~2 hours per day and a group presentation might be required at the end of module. Normally, each module will require 3000-word individual assignment and some courses might go along with group assignment as well.

We have three exams in first term. Account & Finance + Managing  Emerging market context + Analysis for decision making (similar to statistic) and we submit 5 assignments at 13000 words in total.

4. For MBA students, it would be recommended to stay on campus as it saves you a lot of time from transportation, although the  fee is higher.

I would recommend MBA students to stay on campus and rest of students off campus. The supermarket on campus is small and expensive a little more, but we have oriental shop here. The bus from downtown to university operates every 6~10 mins during term time and 10-20 mins during vacation, so it's still convenient if you stay on campus. You can go shopping at city center every week.

Normally speaking, I will choose Thornbank (off campus) and Polden court (on campus). The Cleverland is quite noisy and bad sound proof. Maybe Pulteney court might also be a good choice for off campus accommodation. And Canal Wharf would be another good choice if with budget concern.
